- Abstract:
The LIHTC spatial data set is a set of addresses with attribute information on LIHTC projects. Under the LIHTC program, the states are authorized to issue federal tax credits for the acquisition, rehabilitation, or new construction of affordable rental housing. The credits can be used by property owners to offset taxes on other income, and are generally sold to outside investors to raise initial development funds for a project. The data set represents 16,607 LIHTC projects across the country.
- Purpose:
The data provide planners, HUD officials, and private citizens the ability to determine where LIHTC projects exist, their proximity to one another, and their proximity to other HUD-funded program locations.
