This tool allows you to measure distances, perimeters and areas on the map. It is available in the Advanced Toolbar only. The measurement unit may be set with the function Select a Unit of Measurement .
Measurement Using Line
Go to the Measure button, and left click on Line in the menu.
Click on the map at the location where you want to start the measurement. Drag your mouse on the map by holding the left mouse button. The distance from the initial location to the current mouse's location is displayed on the top left corner of the map.
Measurement Using Multi-line
Go to the Measure button, and left click on Multi-Line in the menu.
Left click with the mouse on the map at the location where you want to start the measurement. Click again on the map to where you want to know the distance and do it in the same fashion to measure multiple lines. You can see the total distance and the distance of each line segment on the top left hand side corner of the map.
To clear the lines on the map and start new measurement double click your left mouse button on the map view.
Measurement Using Polygon
Go to the Measure button, and left click on Polygon in the menu .
Left click with your mouse on the map to initiate the polygon. Click again to locate the other summits of the polygon. You can see the total area and the perimeter of the polygon on the top left hand side corner of the map.
To clear the lines on the map and start new measurements double click your left button.
