This tool allows you to download the geographic data in your map view to use with your GIS software. Data will be delivered in compressed file format (.zip containing shape files). WinZip or Unzip is required to decompress the file. After decompressing the file, you may add the data to your favorite GIS tool that reads shape file data. The data is available at about state scale.
Click on the download icon to access the data download window to get the list of the data layers that are available to select and download at the current scale.
Select the data layers you need and click continue to download the data
The download tool allows you to download selected data to your own local computer. Data layers are clipped to the area displayed in the map view of the application and provided to the user for download in shape file format (compressed in a zip file, go to www.winzip.com to know more about zip file). Data can then be analyzed using GIS software like ArcView.

Save the zip file to your computer
